Connection through Painting

Sessions Beginning August 15th, 2026

My acrylic painting workshops are meant to empower older adults of all experience levels. Creative skill building and social connection are proven to improve cognition, memory, and confidence. Allow me to offer a curated creative experience to your older loved ones!

What does a workshop look like?

Typically, my workshops are 90-minute, step-by-step acrylic painting tutorials designed for accessibility, with themes that rotate based on the seasons and interests of the participants. Think “Bob Ross” but broken down into simpler steps and offered at a manageable pace. During the painting process I look for opportunities to get to know participants and help them feel seen. At the end of each workshop, participants have a completed 8” x 10” painting on canvas and a new sense of pride in their work and artistic skill!

About the Teaching Artist:

Amy Renee Webb graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors in Fine Arts and an emphasis in painting in 2022. For the last four years she has been teaching art to students of all ages, both individually and within class settings. Since 2025, she has placed an emphasis on acrylic painting workshops with older adults, which began with her experience teaching through the nonprofit, WhyArts, in Omaha, Nebraska. As a socially motivated teacher, her lessons emphasize creative skill building, patience, and connection with participants.

Individual workshops are offered at $35 per participant per workshop. Scheduling is first come, first serve, with sessions beginning in August. Available times for workshops are 9am to 2pm Monday through Thursday.

Six+ Week Workshop Package Discount:

The consistency of teaching at the same time each week allows me to build rapport and connect more effectively with participants over a season of six weeks or more. The total cost for participants is $180 for the season, or $30 per participant per workshop. I can also arrange a group art exhibition at the end of the workshop season for those interested in participating! This would be an opportunity for participants to share their work with the community and their loved ones.
